A $100 Donation...

Helps purchase a shelf of new books for the Hermosa Beach Public Library, selected specifically for the community's needs

Helps repair and maintain a Little Library, bringing the joy of reading directly into our community

Covers the cost of a month of weekend children's programs, bringing joy to dozens of local kids

Supports an Author Series event, promoting a love of our local literary community in a fun, engaging evening
Support for the Hermosa Beach Library
Hermosa Beach Friends of the Library donated $27,600 to the Hermosa Beach Public Library in 2024, and has donated over $50,000 in the past two years.

Our donations help the library host programs for children, teens, and adults; purchase a wider array of books tailored to our community's needs; and acquire the supplies they need to operate effectively.

In 2024 alone, HBFoL funding supported:

Book Donations
HBFoL donates books to programs, organizations, and individuals in need. Our dedicated team receives thousands of books each month and diligently cleans, sorts, and processes these books; many end up in our bookstore, where they help raise funds for our programs, while others are donated to community partners.

In 2024, HBFoL received and processed over 40,000 books, CDs, DVDs, and other community donations.

Author Series
Our Author Series is a new initiative to promote community excitement and engagement with our local literary community, and provide exciting evenings for Hermosa Beach. Operated in partnership with the Hermosa Beach Museum, these six events are spread throughout the year.
​
Our Launch Event, Hollywood Series, filled the Hermosa Beach Museum to capacity, with over 95 in attendance! Dates for our future Author Series events are below; events are free, we'd love to see you there!
