Children can improve their reading greatly because
dogs do not correct them; they just look, listen, and provide a
comforting and supportive audience. It is amazing to watch how insecure young readers respond positively and improve with this therapy. |

This wonderful program, co-sponsored by the FOL, is in its second year at the Hermosa Beach Library. Every second Saturday, youngsters practice reading skills with attentive Therapy Dogs as patient listeners. |
