EVELYN
HARRIS BELASCO -- All proceeds from this winter sale are traditionally
added to the Evelyn Harris Belasco Perpetual Memorial Fund, established
in 1980 by the family and friends of this beloved Hermosa Beach
teacher. The "Evie" fund has provided the children's section
with all of the Summer Reading Programs, books, magazines, DVD's,
a mural and other materials for 25 years and is invested to insure
that the interest from the fund will provide this service to the
children's section forever.

A
HISTORY OF LORETO - Loreto, Mexico is the "Sister
City" to Hermosa Beach. This book has been donated by Hermosa
Beach Mayor J.R. Reviczky and will be added to our "California
Collection". Our earliest permanent collection, the "California
Collection" encompasses books relating to California in history,
art, poetry, commerce and other significant genres. It has been
overseen since its inception by Hermosa author Betty Evans who scouts
the book lists for items for us to purchase and include. You might
wish to view this extensive collection on your next visit to the
Hermosa Library.
