• WHAT'S NEW? — Volunteers have been hard at work organizing books, CDs, videos, and DVDs into categories. Many sections, including
fiction, are alphabetized by author’s last name! Be sure to browse the shelves of COLLECTIONS, which offer several works by one author in a
single volume at a bargain price. Also check out the large selection of COFFEE TABLE BOOKS and the paperback CLASSICS.

• MONDAY MORNINGS ON BARD STREET — Open hours are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. except the Monday before each book sale.
New volunteers are welcome--come to buy and/or to sign on as a Bard Street Regular.

• SPECIAL MEMBERS’ BENEFIT — Bard Street volunteers will keep a record of your requests--within reason, of course--and will notify
you if that special book you’ve been hunting for is donated for sale. Forms for this service are available at the book sales and on Monday mornings
during open hours.

• HBFOL PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE — President Betty Ryan says: “A large Thank You to all F.O.L. members and their friends who are attending our book sales. As a direct result of your patronage and support, we are able to provide funds to our library staff so that they can satisfy requests such as:
	$1-a-day new DVD rentals for library patrons
	A larger bulletin board to bring attention to Friends of the Library activities
	Children’s entertainment for the Summer Reading Program (see details below)
	New fiction & nonfiction titles
	Magazine subscriptions--90%+ are funded by book sale proceeds
	Special collections to honor the memory of past members:
		The Charlotte Malone Collection (bestsellers)
		The Evelyn Belasco Collection (children’s books and programs)
		The Patricia Gazin Collection (biographies, poetry, reference books)
		The Betty Evans Collection (California collection)

• SUMMER READING PROGRAM — This popular annual feature will run from June 20 through August 1 at 3 p.m. Flyers detailing each week’s agenda will be available at the book sale and inside the library. The Friends of the Library, through the Belasco Fund, are sponsoring the following entertainers for these family afternoons:
	July 11: Chris Reed presents Percussion Instruments
	July 18: Parties Fantastic presents Sandy’s Barnyard Extravaganza
	July 25: David Cousins presents Comedy Juggling for All Ages

•THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE of the Hermosa Beach Friends of the Library has recommended that the following members be re-elected for the ensuing term at the general election of officers:

	Recording Secretary	Carol Lawson
	Corresponding Secretary	Marcie Hines
	Treasurer	Bill Malone
Members may nominate their choice for these offices at the General Meeting to be held on April 18, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. at 1309 Bard Street in Hermosa Beach. All members welcome.

2007 memberships are now available by mail (go to form) or at the booksale.
